This Is Eden City
A Spirit-filled church for the heart of Boston.
We’re here to see Heaven touch earth in this city we love. Eden City exists to help people encounter God’s presence, find healing and purpose, and grow together in authentic community.

Our Vision
In Boston as it is in heaven
We believe the Gospel brings transformation to every part of life and to every corner of our city. That looks like:
- Healed Bodies, Souls, & Spirits
- Holy Believers
- Healthy Families
- Home in Community
We long to see revival awaken in Boston, one story at a time.
Our Mission
To plant a garden of God's presence to bless the city.
This isn’t about building a crowd; it’s about cultivating a community of believers who live with courageous faith, walk in God’s power, and extend the love of Jesus to our neighbors. . We're not just doing this in Boston. We're doing this for Boston.
Cultivating Community across Boston, from Jamaica Plain to the North End
In 2022, while leading a mission trip to Harvard’s campus, God spoke something unexpected to Jonathan Carlson: “Plant me a strong church in this city.” That moment ignited a vision that the Carlsons sowed into in prayer and faith over the next three years.
In 2025, Jonathan and Macey stepped out in faith, leaving behind the familiar to move to Boston with a burning desire to see revival in the city. What started with prayer in a living room is growing into a vibrant, Spirit-filled community with roots reaching from Jamaica Plain to the North End.
We’re not here to run programs. We’re here to plant something lasting, to cultivate a church that feels like family, follows Jesus fully, and believes that Boston was designed to look like Heaven.
Meet the Team
pastors jonathan and macey carlson

Eden City Church is led by Pastors Jonathan and Macey Carlson, a husband and wife with a heart for Boston and a passion to see lives transformed by God’s presence.
From their earliest days in ministry, church planting was a dream in Macey’s heart and a quiet call in Jonathan’s spirit. After serving as worship pastors in Missouri, they were commissioned as U.S. missionaries and grew a new college ministry in downtown Indianapolis, but Jonathan, a New England Native, always kept a strong burden for the North East in his heart.
While leading a college missions trip to Harvard, Jonathan sensed a word from God: “Plant me a strong church in this city.” That call grew steadily until, in 2025, they said yes. They packed up their lives, gathered a team, and moved to Boston with a deep belief that the seeds of revival were already in the soil.
Alongside their ministry, Jonathan has a background in business, leadership, and coaching, and has worked in marketing, consulting, and start-up development.
Macey has served nationally in church planting networks and brings a creative voice to the church through worship, teaching, design, and strategy.
On a day off, you’ll likely find the Carlsons riding the T, walking the Esplanade, catching a Red Sox game, or hunting for the best lobster roll in the city.
Jonathan and Macey’s heart is to cultivate a church where people experience God’s presence, find healing, and belong to a Christ-centered community. Together, they lead Eden City Church with vision, prayer, and a deep love for people.

Our Values
The values of Eden City Church reflect the functions we fulfill as a church. We do these things because we value these things.
What We Believe
The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10 [KJV/NIV]; Acts 2:42 [KJV/NIV]). The phraseology employed in this Statement is not inspired nor contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it covers all Biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to these fundamental doctrines.
